Buckling length in Surface reinforcement

In FEM-Design 15.00.003, a new parameter "Buckling length" was introduced in the Design calculation parameters for surface reinforcement design. The 'Buckling length'' parameter is only relevant for calculations according a Swedish Annex to Eurocode and it came as a result of implementation new Swedish annex EKS 10 into EN 1992-1-1.

According to EKS 10 9.6.2 (1), a new rule is applied when calculating minimum reinforcement for walls:

For walls with lc/b < 18 ------> Asv,min = 0
For walls with lc/b > 18 ------> Asv,min = 0.001 Ac
where:
lc= buckling length of the wall
b= width of the wall

The ''Buckling length'' parameter is only active, when ''Apply minimum reinforcement where it is relevant" is checked. When this option is unchecked, the ''Buckling length'' parameter is disabled.

When any other (than Swedish) design code is chosen, the ''Buckling length'' parameter is disabled even if 'Apply minimum reinforcement where it is relevant" is checked.
