But our client still using 2016 version, when we send our model to our client for checking, they are not able to open our 2017 version model.

Its saying “load fail” error message. And following message

please let me know how to get rid of this problem.

Hi,

There is no possibility to downgrade an .str file. You can open an older version file in FEM-Design (up to two versions back, e.g. FD 15 file in FD 17), but not the opposite hence, the error message that you see.

One way to try is to save a file in struxml format and open it in older version however, this will work only in some cases. Struxml format is not designed for this kind of actions therefore, it does not contain all possible objects e.g. cover (you will get a notification at saving, in case some objects cannot be saved to struxml). Also struxml format changes with every version and is not compatible backwards therefore, in most cases struxml file saved in FD17 will contain some schema that cannot be read by FD 16.

For above mentioned reasons, we cannot officially support this workflow of downgrading model, but you may just try. In case your model does not contain objects not supported by struxml, and object with a changed schema, it may work for you this time.
